A while ago, I attempted to write a series called “Must Read/See/Hear For Your Monday Morning,” and it didn’t last past a single entry. Part of the reason it didn’t do well is because I just put way too much content in the post, and if I’m going to do this more often, I should make it far easier to digest.

Before rooting for the Cubs, I really didn’t root for anybody. I was happy with the Red Sox winning their first World Series in decades because I knew the Cubs weren’t very close to it themselves. Several years later, after choosing my allegiance, I admit that I enjoyed seeing the Rockies make it to the World Series — even though it meant that my Cubs weren’t there.

I’ve been told that there are two topics gentlemen should not discuss: politics and sports.
Well, I’m obviously not a gentleman, and sometimes I’m a little too brash to be called a ‘lady’, but I can definitely tackle politics and sports at the same time. It’ll be easy this time because there is one clear winner the last few days: the city of Chicago.

Preface: I read this article/blog entitled “Why chicks should be banned from All-Star voting” by Den Cotton tonight, and although slightly offended, I was mostly amused.
Why offended? Hey, some of us female sports fans are totally worth it.
Ah, if men only knew that this is no way to demand attention.
