Ignite Boulder 6: Sätter eld på Boulder

I have to say that this was probably my favorite Ignite, and it was not because I felt like I succeeded — that’s just the icing on the cake. There were some fantastic presentations that exceeded my expectations and absolutely blew my mind. I laughed, learned, and overall, I really enjoyed myself.

Why Twitter tires me out

Plain and simple, Twitter is just not the place for a multitude of valuable interactions; it takes away from quality, just as not all news can be summarized in 30-second snippets or within a half hour of a news program. Regardless of the great service it can provide in many ways, it just isn’t the best place for everything.

SW summary of posts

I decided to instead summarize my posts from SW:

Huge thanks to Illegal Pete’s!
Can SW be applied in the community?
SpotGrab: Grabbing your attention
Livestream for SW Boulder 3
Making CL easier to use with CraigsWishList
Ron Bronson on community and ideas

I ended up being the only blogger, but it was fun! I was unable to cover all of the [...]

SWB09: Languages idea nixed; starting over

I’m blogging from Startup Weekend Boulder 3, but cross-posting on my own site.
One of the most important things one can learn from building a startup is that having a good idea, but it’s not enough. Other people might’ve already done something with your good idea — and if you can’t do it any better, [...]

Startup Weekend Boulder 3

I’m sitting here in the Leeds School of Business amongst a sea of people with various kinds of educational backgrounds, talents, and interests who are all here to build a startup from concept to launch before the end of the weekend. It’s called Startup Weekend, and Boulder is where it all began; it’s currently hosting [...]

Ignite Boulder 4

After attending Ignite Boulder 2 and Ignite Boulder 3, I had submitted a topic that was accepted for presentation: “Confessions of a NiteRide Driver” (name altered just slightly to protect the innocent). By the end of the voting, I’d made it to 3rd place. All this talk about wanting to present and thinking I could present would finally be challenged — could I present in front of almost two hundred people?

My First Blog Post for the South Africa Project

I’ve published my first blog post for the South Africa Project!
(And I’m writing a blog post about a blog post! Go me!)
I’m really excited about this because I’ve been working for the South Africa Project for something like a month now and have really only used Twitter, Facebook, and to a degree worked on the [...]

Ignite Boulder 3

Ignite Boulder 3 was a blast. Although I didn’t get to present, my dear friends Ben Roberts and Efrem Rodriguez did — and they were amazing!
Ignite is a series of presentations in which the slides move every 15 seconds, and the presenter has only so many slides available — it makes for a crazy, fast-paced [...]

Chicks Who Click ‘09: A fantastic weekend!

It’s been a busy week! I went back to work and started up classes again. But it was a week that had been prefaced by a truly great weekend: Chicks Who Click premiered in Boulder!
In December, I posted a quick blurb about wanting to attend Chicks Who Click, a conference created by Gwen Bell and [...]

Chicks Who Click

There are some great events that go on here in Boulder concerning various aspects of social media. I’ll be going to Ignite Boulder this week, and hopefully someday I’ll participate in Startup Weekend.
But an event coming up in January promises to be one for the ladies: Chicks Who Click.
I’m hoping I’ll nab a chance to [...]
