A pleasant birthday
So, I’ve laid off blogging already for a little while. Yesterday was my birthday, so I’ve kind of just been taking it easy and doing what I want to do (barring anything that interferes severely with my coursework). My mother made me some pancit noodles (traditional for good luck on birthdays) and a nice dinner on Sunday, then took me out to lunch on Monday (I’m so spoiled!). Last night I celebrated by being treated to a really good sushi dinner, making pancit noodles for my friends, and then having some drinks on the town.

The look of doubt. Ought I consume the attractively frosty margarita?
Ah, what a night. I’m certainly out of practice when it comes to hitting up the bars. There is some incriminating evidence in the form of film out there somewhere.
I also treated myself to some shoes for my birthday. I just couldn’t help it. Puggles and I had cruised by the Puma store on Saturday and I caught a glimpse of the absolute perfect set of Pumas. I was going to hold off a few weeks, but I just gave in and got ‘em, and a pair of ballet flats while I was at it. Why not?

Those are some cute new ballet flats on the left. On the right, my killer new Pumas. Meow. (The background says a lot about my life: laptop, coffee in a bottle, a dirty bowl, a highlighted syllabus…)
Birthdays are always a lot of fun in my family and we take them more seriously than Christmas. We also tend to milk the whole week as much as possible; getting out of chores all week, having an excuse to go shopping, etc. with “but it’s my birthday!” So I didn’t do a damn thing (well, besides study…) for a good portion of the weekend.
I’m pretty satisfied with my birthday week.
